  • Does the morning-after pill work for abortion?

No, emergency contraception does not induce abortion. The medication administered during an abortion ends pregnancy that has already happened. The emergency contraceptive pill Levonorgestrel, also known as LNG, is most effective if used within the first three days, 72 hours, of unprotected sex. This method also works after four days, 96 hours, but is recommended to be used within the first 3 days.
